Emissions numbers that hold up to an auditor.

We work at two levels. For the fund, we measure the portfolio's financed emissions and explain what changed each year. For each portfolio company, we take management from a first footprint to numbers that pass assurance, and then to a plan to cut them.

Questions we answer
  • What are our financed emissions, and why did they change this year?
  • Which portfolio companies need a footprint, and where do they start?
  • Will the company's footprint pass when a customer or auditor checks it?
  • How do our companies compare with their peers?
For portfolio companies

Building out from the fuel bill

We start with what a company already tracks, like the fuel it burns, and work out to its suppliers, customers and the rest of its value chain.

What we do

For the fund

Financed emissions

We measure emissions across the portfolio to standards such as PCAF and show the data quality for each company.

Year-over-year analysis

We split each year's change into deals, real cuts and better data, in a format you can hand to LPs.

Benchmarking

We compare each company with its peers to show where engagement will do the most.

Your firm's own footprint

We measure the management company's own emissions to the GHG Protocol.

For portfolio companies

A first footprint

We build Scope 1 and 2 from fuel and utility data, and screen which Scope 3 categories matter for the business.

Better data each year

Each year, supplier data replaces more of the estimates, and we fill gaps and fix errors.

Ready for assurance

We put in place the checks, documentation and data owners an auditor will expect.

Customer and CDP requests

We answer the emissions questions that large customers and CDP now ask of their suppliers.

A company's emissions journey
  1. 01Start

A first footprint, built with the company's finance and operations teams from the data it already has.

  2. 02Improve

Each year brings better data, from supplier figures and metered energy.

  3. 03Assure

Checks and documentation so the footprint passes limited assurance, then reasonable.

  4. 04Reduce

Targets and a plan to cut, handed to our Reduction work with numbers the company trusts.

Ready for assurance

A dry run of the audit

Every footprint goes through the checks an auditor will make, with each fix assigned to an owner.
